An Easy, One-Ingredient Cheeseball!

Easter is busy, so an easy shortcut is always a win! This festive Carrot Cheeseball uses just one ingredient—Boursin cheese.

If you haven’t tried Boursin, it’s a creamy, herb-filled cheese made with cow’s milk and butter. Perfect for spreading or filling, it comes in flavors like garlic & herb, pepper, and spicy chili. The garlic & herb version is my favorite for this cheeseball!

How To Make A Carrot Cheeseball (Tips)

  1. Cheeses: Garlic & herb Boursin tastes best with sharp Cheddar for a bold, savory flavor.
  2. Shred your own Cheddar: Use a box grater for better texture and flavor—bagged cheese has extras that change the texture.
  3. Wrap in plastic to shape: Mold it into a carrot shape, then chill until firm.
  4. Let it chill: A firm cheeseball is easier to shape and helps the Cheddar stick.
  5. Press lightly: Gently press on the grated Cheddar to keep the carrot shape.
  6. Make it fun to serve: Use greens to make it look like it’s in a garden or place it on a wooden board for a rustic touch.
  7. This will go fast: Make a double batch so there’s plenty to share!

Recipe Notes

Note 1: Boursin cheese is widely available in grocery stores and comes in various flavors. The garlic and herb flavor works best for this cheeseball. For a homemade cheeseball, consider our Cheeseball Recipe or Pistachio Goat Cheeseball instead!
Note 2: For best results, grate your own sharp Cheddar cheese using the large holes of a box grater. Fresh is best in this recipe; packaged shredded cheese often contains additives that affect the taste.
Note 3: Serve the cheeseball with your choice of crackers such as crispy breadsticks, butter crackers, or pita chips. You can also include sliced toasted baguette or mini crostini for bread, along with cold cuts like salami, pepperoni, or deli meats, and fresh vegetables like carrots, celery, bell peppers, olives, and cherry tomatoes.
Note 4: Wrap the leftover cheeseball tightly in plastic wrap or foil and store it in the fridge for up to a week.
