Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders

Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic favorite, but it can be a bit much on a busy weeknight. These sliders capture all the flavors of cordon bleu in a quick, easy way. Minimal prep and assembly mean you’ll have a crowd-pleaser on the table fast.

Tender rotisserie chicken, savory deli ham, and melty Swiss cheese fill soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls—an irresistible combo. The tangy-sweet honey mustard adds a flavor punch, and the garlic-herb butter on top is the perfect finishing touch!

Chicken Cordon Bleu Slider Ingredients

  • Hawaiian Rolls: Sweet and soft, great with savory fillings. Look in the bakery or bread aisle.
  • Deli Ham: Go for thinly sliced ham; ask for your ideal thickness at the deli counter.
  • Swiss Cheese: Choose a good Swiss that melts well, like pre-sliced Sargento.
  • Rotisserie Chicken: Pick up a rotisserie chicken or use leftover cooked/grilled chicken.
  • Garlic-Herb Butter: Kerrygold works well, or mix 4 tbsp butter with 1/4-1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2-1 tsp Italian seasoning.

Honey-Mustard Sauce Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise: Full-fat gives the best flavor.
  • Dijon Mustard: Adds extra flavor—avoid using yellow mustard.
  • Honey: Adds a touch of sweetness to balance the tangy mustard.
  • Lemon Juice: Fresh-squeezed tastes brighter and fresher.
  • Fine Sea Salt: A pinch boosts and balances all the flavors.

How To Make Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders

  1. Preheat & Prep: Heat oven, grease a pan, slice rolls, and place the bottom half in the pan.
  2. Make Sauce: Whisk sauce ingredients and spread half on bottom rolls.
  3. Assemble: Layer cheese, ham, chicken, and more cheese. Place top rolls on.
  4. Add Butter: Melt butter, pour over rolls, brush evenly, and cover with foil.
  5. Bake: Bake, uncover, and bake again until cheese is melted and tops are golden.

Tips For Success

  • Cutting the rolls: Slice rolls in half together to make it easier to assemble. Use a sharp, serrated knife!
  • Layering: Evenly spread the ham, chicken, and cheese so every bite has all three.
  • The spread: Don’t skip the spread—it adds lots of flavor! Spread it across the top and bottom halves.
  • Butter: Brush butter over the rolls, including the sides, for a golden finish.
  • Baking: Cover with foil first to keep sliders from drying out. Uncover for the last 5 minutes for a crispy top.
  • Serving: Serve warm for melted cheese and crispy bread.

Variations

Change Up Your Sliders

  • Add bacon: Add crispy bacon for extra smoky flavor. Just bake some bacon until it’s crispy and layer it in with the fillings.
  • Replace chicken with turkey: Swap in shredded leftover turkey instead of chicken.
  • Switch up the cheese: This recipe uses Swiss, but feel free to try other cheeses.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders

Sweet Hawaiian rolls filled with savory ham, gooey Swiss cheese, and juicy chicken, topped with tangy honey mustard sauce and garlicky butter—these Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders are packed with flavor!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 12 sliders

Equipment

  • Baking pan 9 x 13-inch

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Sliders

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400℉. Generously grease a 9 x 13-inch pan. With a sharp serrated knife, slice the unseparated Hawaiian rolls in half, creating a top and bottom slab. Place the bottom slab of the rolls in the prepared pan.
  • Whisk together sauce ingredients until smooth. Spread just over half of the sauce on the bottom slab of rolls and the remaining on the top half.
  • To the bottom slab of rolls, layer half the cheese followed by the ham, chicken, and then the rest of the cheese. Add the top slab of rolls back on top of everything.
  • Melt butter in the microwave then slowly pour over the rolls. Use a pastry brush or spatula to evenly spread the mixture over the tops and sides. A little bit of the butter will pool at the bottom of the rolls, but that's good, it makes the bottoms crispy! Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3–6 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the rolls are golden on the top and bottom.
  • Remove from the oven and serve promptly. Best enjoyed right out of the oven; they get soggy after sitting for any length of time.

Recipe Notes

Note 1: I suggest buying rotisserie chicken meat that has already been pulled from the bones and shredded. If you have some on hand, leftover baked chicken or grilled chicken with a basic salt and pepper seasoning can also work well for this recipe.
Note 2: Nothing beats this amazing Kerrygold® garlic butter. However, a homemade blend of 4 tablespoons butter mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning will do the trick just as well.
Storage: Wrap in foil or store in an airtight container. Keep in the fridge up to 3 days.
