Take Chocolate Covered Strawberries to the next level!
Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Bar Guide
After this Caramel Apple Bar was such a hit this past fall, I thought a chocolate-covered strawberry bar would be such a fun idea for Valentine’s or Game Days. But really, this is perfect for so many events – from bridal and baby showers to birthday bashes, Girls’ nights in, to fun family evenings.
The best part? Everyone can jazz up their strawberries their way, whether they’re feeling super indulgent or want to keep it on the lighter side. Plus, for anyone with dietary needs, it’s a dream – just pick what you like and skip what you don’t.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Bar Supplies
- Wide-mouth Mason Jars for easy dipping in melted chocolate.
- Half-filled 6-quart slow cooker to keep the chocolates warm and gooey.
- Muffin Pan with liners or small bowls for various toppings.
- Squeeze Bottles for drizzles (optional).
- Skewers or toothpicks for easy dipping.
- Optional: Labels for sauce and topping identification, festive decorations, and a nut grinder for quickly chopping cookies, nuts, cereals, and candies.
Chocolates To Choose From
Pick four (or more!) of the following:
- Dark chocolate: Choose this one for rich and intense flavor.
- Milk chocolate: Or go with creamy and sweet chocolate.
- White chocolate: This one is sweet, made from cocoa butter; no cocoa solids mean no chocolate-brown color
- Ruby chocolate: Berry-like tang, naturally pink, and creamy texture that’ll surprise everyone.
- Butterscotch: It’s sweet with a distinct caramel-toffee flavor.
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips: Creamy peanut butter flavor mixed with milk chocolate: YUM!
Quick Tip
Try Ruby Chocolate! Created in 2017 by Belgian chocolatier Barry Callebaut, this naturally pink chocolate has a berry-like tang and creamy texture. It’s not widely available in stores, but you can find it online. Use high-quality chocolate chips for richer, more indulgent dipping sauces.
Optional: Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Drizzles
- Peanut butter: Add a nutty flavor for the non-chocolate folks.
- Cookie butter (biscoff): This decadent spread has a spiced, gingerbread-like flavor.
- Nutella: This chocolate-hazelnut blend with a sweet flavor is a crowd favorite.
Strawberries
- Dry the strawberries: Make sure they’re completely dry for better chocolate adherence.
- Use toothpicks: Insert for easy dipping and handling.
- Cool quickly: Place on parchment paper after dipping and decorating.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Topping Ideas
If using a muffin tin, choose 12 of the following:

- Flakes and nuts: Sweetened coconut, crushed nuts.
- Candy bits: Heath bar, toffee bits, mini chocolate chips, various sprinkles.
- Crushed cookies: Oreos, Graham Crackers, Nilla Wafers, Pretzels.
- Note: We refer to some trademarked brands for two reasons. 1) They’re high-quality products that we use in our test kitchens and 2)they create instant name recognition to illustrate steps in the recipe process. We respect trademarks and branding!
Quick Tip
Be aware of common allergens like nuts. Keep them away from other toppings and label them clearly.
