Christmas Snack Mix

The holidays are busy, and baking from scratch isn’t always possible. But this white chocolate Christmas Snack Mix? It’s ready in about 15 minutes!

It’s sweet, festive, and hard to resist! Plus, you can easily switch up the ingredients—just keep the amounts close to the same.

All the ingredients in this recipe are prepped for easy assembly: M&Ms, white chocolate, oil, Chex, Captain Crunch, and pretzels.

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make this Christmas Snack Mix:

  • Chex Cereal: Use rice, honey-nut, or corn—whichever you prefer!
  • Pretzels: Mini twists or rods add salty crunch. Break in half for even distribution.
  • Cap’n Crunch: Go with plain (no berries) for sweetness and crunch.
  • Cheerios: Plain or Honey-Nut—both work great!
  • M&M’s: Red and green add a festive look, but any colors are fine.
  • White Chocolate Chips: Melt with a bit of oil for smooth coating.
  • Sprinkles (Optional): Adds a fun, festive touch!
Add all the ingredients except the white chocolate to a bowl for the Christmas Snack Mix.

How To Make Christmas Snack Mix

  1. Prep Pan: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a big bowl, mix the cereals, pretzels, and candies.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Microwave white chocolate and oil in a bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  4. Coat Mix: Pour melted chocolate over the mix and gently stir to coat.
  5. Spread & Set: Spread the mix on the baking sheet in one layer; add sprinkles if you like. Let it set at room temperature or in the fridge for 10-20 minutes.
  6. Serve: Once firm, break into pieces and enjoy!

Quick Tip

Switching ingredients? Go ahead and use different cereals or candies—just keep the size and amounts similar. You can also swap milk chocolate for white. Once you’ve got the basics down, try this mix for other holidays or party themes!

Pour the white chocolate over the dry ingredients.

Tips For Melting White Chocolate

This Christmas Snack Mix is coated in melted white chocolate—here are my top tips:

  • Choose Quality: High-quality white chocolate melts and tastes better.
  • Stir Often: Stir every 30 seconds while microwaving, then stir between each round to avoid burning.
  • Avoid Water: Keep all liquids away; even a little water will make the chocolate harden.
  • Act Fast: White chocolate sets fast, so mix it with the other ingredients quickly.

Storage

Store Christmas Snack Mix in a sealed container at room temperature for up to a week. It’s best within 2-4 days.

I got this recipe from my husband’s cousin. SO good! I mix mine in a large turkey roaster. I can’t even imagine just using a large mixing bowl! It takes ALOT of mixing!

    1. Chelsea Lords says:

Haha that’s awesome! It definitely is nice to have a big bowl to mix in! Thanks for your comment Barbara! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Ramona says:

If I use the mini marshmallows, when do I add them? And do I melt them before adding?

    1. Chelsea Lords says:

I’d add them with the whole mix before adding white chocolate. Don’t melt them, if you coat them well, the white chocolate should keep them from hardening! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Jane says:

Just wondering if a person could spread everything out on sheets and then drizzle the white chocolate over the top evenly

Mine doesnโ€™t look this pretty. I need more white chocolate and mโ€™nโ€™mโ€™s in after or something! What are the tricks?? Itโ€™s good but doesnโ€™t look like yours and I followed exactly. Thank you, Cheri

    1. Chelsea Lords says:

It’s honestly not very pretty! I moved pieces around to get the prettiest on top to take these photos. You can absolutely drizzle additional melted white chocolate over everything after it’s been tossed and press in a few more M&Ms. Hopefully that helps!
