Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy
Do you remember Buncha Crunch candy? Those bite-sized clusters of crispy rice cereal enveloped in a rich, velvety layer of chocolate used to be my favorite movie theatre treat! If you didn’t know, they’re essentially crumbled bits of Nestle’s® Crunch Bars!
Recently, I’ve been recreating this nostalgic treat at home using a simple blend of crisp rice cereal and a creamy chocolate bar (here’s the recipe in case you missed it!). We’ve enjoyed this homemade version so much recently that I thought it would be fun to play around with the flavor profile a bit, and that’s how Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy came to be!
This candy is a unique and tasty treat. It offers an irresistible burst of fruity flavor, complimented by the creaminess of the white chocolate and the crunchy texture of the cereal. To put it simply, it’s irresistibly delicious!
And the best part? It’s a breeze to prepare. For this Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy, you’ll only need three ingredients, and there’s absolutely no baking involved!
Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy Ingredients
To make this delicious candy, you will need:
- Fruity Pebbles® (or Fruity Dyno-Bites®) cereal
- High-quality white chocolate bar: I am hooked on Ghiradelli’s® Premium White Chocolate Baking Bars — so good! Keep in mind: the better the quality of chocolate, the better the flavor will be overall.
- Coconut oil: A little coconut or vegetable oil thins the chocolate and helps it to coat the cereal smoother. Plus, the candy has a better mouthfeel with the oil added in.
- Optional: A tiny pinch of salt (to bring out the flavors and balance sweetness)

Melting White Chocolate
Melting chocolate in the microwave makes preparing the chocolate for this Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy quick and easy. Here’s how to do it:
- Chop the white chocolate bar into small, even-sized pieces. This will help the chocolate melt evenly and prevent burning.
- Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Add a bit of oil to ensure the chocolate comes out nice and smooth.
- Microwave the chocolate in 30-second intervals. Stir well after each interval. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate, as this can cause it to seize or burn.
- Once the chocolate is nearly melted, remove it from the microwave. Stir until it’s fully melted and smooth.
- Add in the cereal immediately and work quickly before it has a chance to set.
Quick Tip
Be very careful not to overheat the chocolate when melting it, as it can easily scorch, making it grainy and unusable. Using the microwave in 30-second intervals, with thorough stirring in between helps ensure that the chocolate melts evenly without burning.
Storage
Storing Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy
To store Fruity Pebble Crunch Candy, place it in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Make sure the white chocolate coating is fully hardened, and store it in a single layer to avoid sticking.
I don’t recommend keeping the candy at room temperature for too long; the chocolate gets quite melty.
Quick Tip
Size of Clusters: Keep the size of your clusters consistent to ensure even chilling and easier eating. If your clusters are too large, they may not harden properly and could be difficult to eat.
