Leprechaun Bait is sweet, salty, and delicious! Lucky Charms, cereal, pretzels, and chocolate candies coated in white chocolate for the perfect St. Patrick’s Day treat.

Leprechaun Bait is ready to serve and enjoy.

Leprechaun Bait

My mom went all out for every holiday, and St. Patrick’s Day was no exception—gold chocolate coins, head-to-toe green outfits, and an all-green dinner. I’m talking green spaghetti, green grapes, and a green salad. Dessert? Her famous Rice Krispies Treats with green sprinkles.

I skip the all-green dinner but always make something festive. Leprechaun Bait, Leprechaun Thumbprints, or Lucky Charms Bars are my go-to treats!

All the ingredients for this recipe are prepped and ready for easy assembly, including Chex, Lucky Charms, M&Ms, marshmallows, oil, chocolate, and pretzels.

Ingredients

Here’s what we’ve got in Leprechaun Bait:

  • Corn Chex: I like the slight sweetness, but Rice Chex works too.
  • Pretzel Twists: Sticks, itty bitty minis, or snaps work too.
  • Lucky Charms: The perfect festive cereal for this mix!
  • Lucky Charms marshmallows: I just pick them out from the cereal.
  • Green M&M’s: I use regular and mini, but peanut butter or peanut would be great too.
  • White chocolate chips: Go for good-quality chips for the best flavor and melt.
  • Vegetable oil: Helps the chocolate melt smoothly. Canola or coconut oil works too.
White chocolate is melting, ready to drizzle over and mix into the Leprechaun Bait.

Leprechaun Bait Tips

  • Keep pieces similar: Ingredients mix best when they’re close in size.
  • Use good white chocolate: Better chocolate melts smoother and tastes better.
  • Don’t overheat chocolate: It keeps melting after you take it out. Stir every 30 seconds and for 20-25 seconds between bursts.
  • Move fast: White chocolate sets quick, so mix it in as soon as it’s melted.
All the dry ingredients are in the bowl, ready to mix.

  • Print on glossy cardstock: For best results, email the PDFs to your local printing office.
  • Cut and fold easily: A Paper Cutter and Scoring Board help make clean cuts and folds.

  • Save before printing: Don’t print from the website—save the file first. If it won’t print, try another browser.
  • Put it together: Fill snack bags with Leprechaun Bait, seal them, and staple the cut and folded printable on top.
