5-Ingredient Double-Layered Strawberry Jell-O Parfait Cups – Jell-O on the bottom with a strawberry mousse on top.
Strawberry Jell-o Parfait Cups
They may look tricky, but they couldn’t be easier! The Jell-O slant is simply done by propping the cups at an angle in a muffin tin!
To keep them slanted, tuck foil balls, marbles, or even extra paper into the muffin tin. Once set, pour in the strawberry Jell-O with strawberries and let it fully set. Remove the cups, pour the mousse on top, let it chill, and they’re ready! It takes some time (mostly chilling), but they’re so worth it—one of the best Jell-O treats ever!
Ingredients
- Strawberry Jell-O: Dissolve fully in hot liquid before adding cold for the best texture.
- Boiling & Cold Water – Activates the Jell-O for proper setting.
- Strawberries: Slice evenly for a prettier presentation and consistent bites.
- Sprite: Use cold Sprite when blending to help the mousse set faster.
- Cream Cheese: Use softened, full-fat cream cheese for the smoothest blend.
- Cool Whip: Let it thaw fully in the fridge for the best consistency.
- Whipped Topping or Fresh Whipped Cream (Optional): Add just before serving for the freshest look.
Quick Tip
To keep the cups steady while pouring the Jell-O, wedge foil balls or crumpled paper tightly in the muffin tin—this prevents slipping and helps create the perfect slanted layer!
How To Make Strawberry Jell-o Parfait Cups
- Set up cups: Watch the video to see how to tilt the cups.
- Make the Jell-O layer: Pour slowly so the cups don’t move.
- Add strawberries: Lightly press the slices into the Jell-O so they don’t float.
- Make mousse: Use a strong blender for the creamiest texture.
- Finish mousse: Stop blending as soon as it’s mixed to keep it fluffy.
- Add mousse layer: Use a little less mousse than Jell-O so the flavors stay balanced.
- Garnish and serve: Add toppings just before serving for the best taste and texture.

Jello Parfait (Strawberry)
Equipment
- Blender high-powered
Ingredients
- 2 (3-ounce) packages strawberry Jell-O plus boiling and cold water called for
- 1 pint strawberries hulled and sliced, about 2 cups, plus 1 for garnish if desired
- 2-1/2 cups cold Sprite divided
- 1 (3-ounce) package strawberry Jell-O
- 4 ounces cream cheese full-fat, softened
- 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping like Cool Whip, completely thawed
- Additional whipped topping or fresh whipped cream, to top, optional
- Fresh mint optional, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare a 9-cavity muffin pan: use 9 small balls, or wad up balls of foil (or paper) and place in the muffin pan. Place 9 clear plastic cups on top of the balls at an angle (see video at top of this page!) The small balls help to keep the cup at an angle.
- Prepare the strawberry Jell-O (both packets) according to package directions (not for quick set, but for regular set). Fill up the cups evenly with Jell-O (be careful as you pour to ensure the cups stay at an angle).
- Hull and slice the strawberries, then place a few slices of strawberries into each Jell-O cup. Carefully transfer the muffin pan to the fridge and allow the Jell-O to completely set up. When it is nearly set up, you can begin the mousse.
- Place 1 and 1/2 cups Sprite in a microwave safe bowl or cup and microwave just until the mixture comes to a boil. Whisk the packet of strawberry Jell-O into the Sprite.
- Transfer the mixture to a high-powdered blender and add cream cheese. Blend until completely smooth. And remaining 1 cup of (cold) Sprite and blend again until smooth.
- Add completely thawed Cool Whip and blend just until smooth. (You can leave out about 1/2 cup for optional garnish at the end if desired).
- Pour this mixture evenly over the Jell-O layers (use less of this mousse than the Jell-O, or the mousse tends to be overpowering).
- Place in the fridge and allow to set completely.
- If desired, garnish with fresh whipped cream (or 1/2 cup extra cool whip) and garnish with fresh mint and a small strawberry.

So glad you enjoyed these; thanks Denise!
Please don’t delete again….but why would the moose separate?
Did you change any ingredients? Or method? I’ve never had a problem with it separating!
No i followed the directions as indicated and have even made it twice.
Not sure what i did wrong but the mousse seems to separate while it was chilling.
Looks good I love it
Thank you!
I made this recipe and my husband and I loved it! I was able to share with a co-worker. I am planning on making some this week. Such a light and refreshing cool dessert for the hot weather we are having. This was my first time make jello parfait.
So glad these were enjoyed! 🙂
Wouldnt it been easier to put the sliced strawberries in FIRST & THEN pour the jello mixture on top?? And WHY does the Sprite have to be microwaved??
I like putting strawberries in after it’s poured because you can arrange them better and make sure they aren’t all overlapping in one spot. Sprite needs to be microwaved so the Jell-o dissolves better in it.
Would using ginger ale instead of sprite be ok?
I’m sure it would work fine; I’m not sure on how it would taste though without personally trying that! Let me know how it goes if you try it!
too sweet, for my tooth ?
I’m gonna replace the sprite with water.
But good recipe
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Greetings from Germany
Thanks Jessika! That sounds perfect! Great to have you here 🙂
Hi Chelsea!I wanted to make these and i was wondering about step 7. It says add in the cool whip and leave out some for optional garnish. if i am making my own whipped cream, do i add in all of the cool whip or do i still have to leave out half? Thank You!
You’ll want to make the same amount as the cool whip container and then yes leave out some to add at the end 🙂
Chelsea, I love all your recipes! Have you ever thought about putting a cookbook together to sell online. I’m sure I’m not the only one that would purchase a couple.
Ahh you are soo sweet Patricia! Thanks! <3 Hopefully someday!! 🙂
