Tiger Butter Fudge
Tiger Fudge, or Tiger Butter Fudge, is one of our favorite candies to make for Christmas. Really, we love it any time of the year, but it always makes the list for Christmas baking.
This fudge has the consistency of a soft and smooth fudge with a rich chocolate and peanut butter flavor. It only requires four ingredients and comes together in just a few minutes in the microwave (no candy thermometer or special tools needed).
How to make Tiger Butter Fudge
The descriptions below correlate to the photos numbered above.
- Place white chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl
- Add in the peanut butter — Use a thick store brand (I don’t recommend runny/natural peanut butter for this fudge). Microwave chocolate and peanut butter in bursts until smooth and melted.
- With a silicone spatula, scrape the melted white chocolate and peanut butter into the prepared pan.
- Smooth into an even layer.
- Now melt the two chocolates (milk and semi-sweet) with some more peanut butter until smooth.
- Spread over the white chocolate layer and use a table knife to swirl together.
- Swirled fudge is ready to set up in the fridge. Chill for 30 minutes until firm and ready to cut into pieces and serve.
Quick Tips
- Use high-quality white chocolate for the best results for both a better melt and a better flavor. My favorite brands for this Tiger Butter Fudge are Ghirardelli® and Guittard®.) Nestle® will also get good results.
- To avoid burning chocolate, stir it often in between the melting process (every 30 seconds) and stir it for at least 20-25 seconds in between each microwave burst. Remember, the chocolate is still melting even outside of the microwave.
- Don’t allow any liquid near the chocolate. Any moisture will cause the chocolate to seize and harden.
Quick Tip
If your chocolate does seize up, try adding boiling water, one teaspoon at a time, and stirring well. Many times this will help, but it’s not a guarantee.
