TikTok Baked Oats are a viral hit! Blend oats with a few ingredients and bake into a cake-like breakfast. I’m sharing four versions: plain with berries, double chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and chocolate chip cookie.

For regular baked oats (where the oats aren’t blended up first) try Baked Oatmeal or Chocolate Chip Baked Oatmeal.

TikTok Baked Oats

When I first saw baked oats on TikTok, I was curious and had to try them. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with the flavor or texture—the oats were too gooey, dense, and bland.

But the idea stuck with me, and after a few weeks of testing and tweaking, I’m excited to share a version that has great flavor and texture.

After all that testing, I’ve come up with four flavors, all of which we’ve been making regularly at home. My favorite? Double chocolate!

[/quicktip] Most TikTok Baked Oats use an overripe banana, but I skipped it for a better texture and more cake-like flavor. [/quicktip]

Tools Needed

  • This recipe is quick and easy, but you’ll need a powerful blender to smooth the cashews and oats. I recommend using a mini “Twister” jar for the smaller batter.
  • 8-ounce ramekins are essential—this recipe won’t work the same in other sizes.

What Do Baked Oats Taste Like?

These baked breakfast oats really taste like cake! The texture is a bit denser and moister than a typical sugary cake (cough, cough, like chocolate cake).

The chocolate version of these TikTok Baked Oats feels like you’re having a rich chocolate dessert for breakfast!

Tiktok Baked Oats Ingredients

  • Cashews: I like dry-roasted, lightly salted cashews for more flavor.
  • Old-fashioned oats: Use old-fashioned oats not steel cut or quick oats.
  • Pure maple syrup: Adds sweetness and moisture with no added ingredients.
  • Dutch-process cocoa powder: Hershey’s® “Special Dark” cocoa works well and is easy to find.

Variations

How To Make Tiktok Baked Oats Different

  • Add spices: Change up the plain version with cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin pie spice.
  • Swap toppings: Keep the same base recipe and try different toppings. Some favorites are fresh fruit, nut butters, chopped nuts, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and coconut.
  • Pumpkin TikTok Baked Oats: Add pumpkin pie spice to the mix and top with pumpkin butter for a fall flavor.
  • Cinnamon Roll Oats: Stir in cinnamon and top with cream cheese frosting after baking.

Storage

Leftovers?

Enjoy TikTok Baked Oats right out of the oven; they don’t store well because they become too moist and dense.

However, the batter keeps well in the fridge for 5-7 days. Just stir the leftover batter before adding it to ramekins and baking fresh for breakfast or a snack.

Recipe Notes

Note 1: This recipe is quick and easy, but you’ll need a powerful blender like Blendtec® or Vitamix® to break down the cashews and oats into a smooth mixture. The mini “Twister” jar is ideal, as it handles smaller quantities better than a larger jar.
Note 2: 8-ounce ramekins are essential for this recipe. Using different-sized ramekins will affect the outcome.
Note 3: Topping ideas for the Plain Version: fresh berries, chia seeds, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Note 4: Topping ideas for Chocolate-Chip Version: additional chocolate chips and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Note 5: For the baked oats recipe for one, bake only one cake at a time. Transfer remaining batter to an airtight container and store in the fridge for 5–7 days. Stir the stored batter before adding it to ramekins.
Nutrition Note: Nutrition information isn’t included, since it will vary by the variety of cake made.
Storage: These TikTok Baked Oats don’t store very well (they get too moist and dense). However, the unbaked batter stores nicely in the fridge for 5–7 days. Give the leftover stored batter a quick stir before adding to ramekins and baking.

This looks great! How many ramekins would you need for a batch? Can you get four cakes from each recipe or is it more? Just want to be sure I have the right equipment before getting started. Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚
