Easy and delicious sparkling blueberry lemonade. The perfect cool down summer drink!
Easy Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade
Cool down with this sparkling blueberry lemonade—a refreshing, easy-to-make drink that’s bursting with fresh, juicy blueberries and bright lemon flavor.
Equipment
- Medium pot
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sugar superfine is best
- 2/3 cup water
- 1-1/2 cups fresh blueberries
- 4 to 5 large lemons
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 3 cups sparkling water or club soda, my favorite is sparkling lemon lime water
Instructions
- Combine the sugar, water, blueberries, and 1 teaspoon lemon zest in a medium pot.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer for 10 minutes or until the sugar is melted and blueberries are starting to burst.
- Remove from heat and pass through a fine sieve. Let this blueberry syrup completely cool.
- Meanwhile, juice the lemons to get 1 cup lemon juice.
- In a large pitcher, add the blueberry syrup, lemon juice, and ice. Stir together.
- Stir in the sparkling water or club soda right before enjoying (don’t add to anything you plan on having leftover). Enjoy immediately.

Recipe Notes
Storage: If you don’t plan on drinking this in 1 day, keep the juice (blueberry syrup + lemon juice) separate from the sparkling water. Add them together to serve.

LEMON DROP WITH LIMONCELLO
Limoncello is a sweet, sugary lemon alcohol that Italians taste after a dinner as a digestif. For a lemon drop martini, I like to supplant the triple sec with two shots of limoncello and scaled the vodka back to a single shot.
Has anyone made this yet? I am making it tomorrow, will let you know. Thanks
Made it for 4th of July family gathering – it was a hit! I added a 1/4 cup more sugar and 1/4 cup more blueberries.
So glad to hear that! Thanks Jo!
I work in a Radisson group of hotels and often include your recipes in Sunday Brunch Buffet. This blueberry lemonade was a great hit. Thank you for sharing such nice recipes that really bring smiles to our guests. Looking forward for more.
I am so happy to hear this! Thanks so much for your comment! 🙂
Hi Chelsea!
I’m from Austria and it’s not too common to flavour lemonade like this here! It’s a cool idea and sounds really good! I’ll have to try it some day!
It’s one of our favorites! Hope you love it 🙂
This was great. I didn’t use sparkling water, just water since I don’t like sparkling, and it was fantastic. Will make again. Thank you for sharing.
I’m soo glad you enjoyed this! Thanks!! 🙂
I can’t have carbonation (no bubbles except occasionally) will this be ok with regular water?
Yes, just fine! 🙂 Enjoy!
Sounds easy and me and my mom will love it will be a great drink to make when I am just thristry or it’s hot out
I hope you both love it 🙂
I put up a lot of blueberries this past summer and they’re all in my freezer. I would like to use these blueberries to make the blueberry lemonade recipe. Since you mentioned using fresh blueberries I wonder if these blueberries that I put up would work as well.
They should work ok! 🙂 Enjoy!
